Her Testimony

When I was eleven years old, I realized I was a lost soul. My parents carried me to every revival in the country with no results. The day after the close of one revival, I was so burdened that I thought I would die. I was praying so hard that my mother called our pastor, Brother Leonard Sanderson, and asked him to please come. By the time he arrived, the Lord had saved me. I have never seen such a bright light. The whole living room was just lit up. That special feeling in my heart was just something unbelievable. Needless to say, it was hard to determine who was the happiest that day, my mother or me.

"Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation." [Psalms 111:1]

Bettye is a charter member of Huntingdon (formerly Independent) Missionary Baptist Church.
She, her mother and father, and her paternal grandmother and grandfather joined the church on the day it was organized, May 14, 1950.
