Born Again: The Third Friday
I knew for a long time that I was lost and if I died before I was saved I would go to hell. One night some close friends asked me if I wanted to go to a revival meeting at Westport Baptist Church. I said yes. I was so glad they asked me. When we got to the church I sat in the back and did not know anyone around me. It didn't matter because I was there to try to get the heavy burden lifted from my heart. I had prayed the best I knew how at home and at church and anywhere I could for God to save me. That night when the preacher gave the invitation to come to the altar a lot of people went up for prayer, but I didn't. I just prayed where I was. Before I knew what had happened, almost, I think, in a second, I no longer carried that awful burden. I felt so free and happy. I'll never forget that night as long as I live, and I call that peace.
