Opal Mae Robinson HedgeBorn Again: September, 1921
|
Her TestimonyI was taken to church all my life. One September day my mother asked my sister to play the organ and we sang "Amazing Grace". I remember Mother saying, "We can understand it even if Opal Mae cannot". As I listened to them sing, I became burdened with sin. I went to the back bedroom and began to pray, but found no relief. When Daddy and Mother became aware of my condition, they called the neighbors to come and pray for me. I thought if Daddy and Mother prayed for me I would be saved, but I only grew worse. I soon forgot about them and began praying for myself. That is when the Lord saved me. I love that old song, "Amazing Grace", because it helped me to see the light. |
"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." [Romans 5:8]
Opal Mae was a frequent visitor at H M B C until she moved
to Brownsville, Tennessee, to be near her son, Lonie Robinson, Jr., a Baptist Minister.
We thank her for sharing her testimony of salvation with us.
She
is a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. How pleasant to
remember Christian mothers and fathers who prayed for their children.
