Myrtle CaryBorn Again: During a |
Her TestimonyWhen I was ten years old I joined the church and was baptized, but I was not saved. When I was twenty-four years old, a revival was going on at Westport and I went. It seemed the preacher talked only to me. I was under conviction so bad and had been for a long time. When the preacher stopped preaching I was at the altar. I don't know what songs were sung or who prayed. I was praying and it was just me and the Lord. Then I could not pray any more. A peace came into me. When I started to get up my whole body was happy. I shouted. That sweet peace is still with me. Thank God for saving me. (Brother L. H. Brown was the pastor at Westport Baptist Church at that time.) |
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our
sorrows: yet we did esteem him straicken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are
healed.
[Isaiah 53:4-5]
