 My Testimony

I was saved during a revival at Mount Comfort Baptist Church during the fourth week in July of 1930. Brother Joe Joyner was the pastor. The first day of the revival Brother Joyner came to me and asked me if I was lost and wanted to go to the altar for prayer. I went then and continued to go up at every service. I prayed and tried to trust the Lord the best I knew how. Then on Thursday of that week I was saved. I joined the church and was baptized at the end of the revival. I remained a member of Mount Comfort Baptist Church for thirty years before I moved my membership.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." [Matthew 5:3-6]

Evie was the wife of Max Green, a Deacon of Independent. Evie and Max were dedicated Christians and faithful members. Evie was a sister to Annie Robinson who also shares her testimony. Evie went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2006.
