Alma BondBorn Again: First
Week of August, 1937
|
I was convicted of my sins when I was thirteen years old. Back then many Christians invited sinners to go to the altar for prayer and I went for some time, but did not get saved. When I was fourteen I was saved sitting in my seat in the church. That day I was so troubled because no one came to me. I felt no one cared if I did go to hell. I realized I had been depending on the people instead of the Lord. I called on the Lord and turned everything over to Him. I had planned to shout, but I didn't. The burden of sin was gone like a flash and a sweet peace came into my heart. I joined the church and was baptized. Brother A. U. Nunnery was pastor of the church at that time.
"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation." [Isaiah 12:2]
Alma is an active member of our church and participates in "The Helping Hands", a ladies benevolent group within the church. She is the widow of Paschal Bond.
